SINE NOMINE SINGERS CONCERT, DECEMBER 2011

A concert of music by Stanford, Parry, Naylor, Bairstow, Elgar, Purcell, Tallis, Peter Philips and John Sheppard, plus contemporary composers David Bednall and Edmund Joliffe, conducted by Jonny Davies. There was also instrumental music: French music for flute by Ibert and Fauré played by Kieran Hughes with Peter Davies at the piano. Given at St.George’s, Bickley on Saturday 10th December 2011.

CHAMBER MUSIC FOR WIND AND BRASS

A concert of music by Copland, Caplet, Stravinsky, Susato and Dvorak, soloist (in the Stravinsky) Catherine Herriott, and conducted by Peter Fender (Copland, Caplet and Susato) and Lindsay Ryan (Stravinsky and Dvorak). Given at St.Mary Magdalene Church, Munster Square NW1 on Saturday 25th June 2011.

A performance of Haydn Wood’s ‘Montmartre’ (from his Paris Suite) recorded by Lambeth Wind Orchestra (conductor John Holland) recorded by the BBC at Maida Vale Studios and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on 22nd June 2011.



THINGS TO PLAY BEFORE YOU’RE 50

A Concert organised by Sharon Moloney to celebrate Peter Bruce’s last day in his forties! Recorded on 8th May 2011 at St.George’s Church, Bickley. Music by Milhaud, Lloyd, Takemitsu, Bruce and Berlioz.

DVORAK SYMPHONY NO.7 – SLOW MOVEMENT ORIGINAL VERSION

The first performance since the première in 1885 of the original version of this movement, played by the Bromley Symphony Orchestra conducted by Adrian Brown. Recorded on 14th June 2010.



CONTEMPORARY CHAMBER WORKS

A concert which took place on 20th February 2010; a programme of contemporary works for various combinations of wind instruments, piano and percussion, featuring members of the Forum London Composers Group.

FABULOUS WORKS FOR WIND

A concert which took place on 30th January 2010, conducted by Lindsay Ryan. The works performed are Philip Sparke A Yorkshire Overture, John Holland The Something In-between (world première) featuring Isobel Williams (oboe/cor anglais), Paul Hart Cartoon and James Barnes Symphony No.3.

A concert given on 26th September 2009 featuring the Ferndene Saxophones, the Meantime Viola Quartet, Ian Finn’s Double Reed Band, Swings and Slides Trombone Quartet, Magistri Malleorum Percussion Ensemble and Opal Flutes.
